Chinese blue and white porcelain minyao teacups crafted from provincial porcelain featuring a somewhat thick, coarse potting body and a raised foot rim. The glaze shows a slightly blue-gray, uneven tone common in everyday household ware rather than imperial porcelain.
They are decorated with hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue designs. The abstract, freehand brushstrokes resemble traditional motifs such as seaweed, grass, or simple floral patterns.
This style of "minyao" teacup was produced over a long period from the late Ming Dynasty through the late Qing Dynasty in southern China and Taiwan and they were used for drinking tea or wine.
They are often associated with traditional Chaozhou Gongfu tea ceremonies.
